Two or three stories jump out of this collection - Grace Darling, of course, and Francis Drake, but I was enthralled by the 'Birkenhead' heroes - troops whose discipline while their ship sank saved the lives of all the women and children on board, and the two World WarTwo stories. As you know I am a great enthusiast for story in history, and these provide ammunition for KSt3 pupils to read themselves - or for you to entrance and fascinate, encouraging their own research and interest. Recommended.
