Description:
A novel set at the time of the plague in London

Hannah goes off from the country to work in her sister's sweet shop in London, just before the plague arrives. The shop becomes a thriving business, only to be badly affected by the impact of the plague, both on themselves and on customers. But of course it all turns out well in the end..... Although not specifically a story for young people, decent readers in Year 8 would enjoy this tale, and pick up lots of colour and detail about life in C17th London. An easy read, and historically accurate, if a little improbable.
