Description:
Opened in 1922 and housing the personal collections of Lord Lever.
Review:
This especially built Gallery contains one of the best collections of 18th and 19th Century British paintings and furniture. Many of the paintings, especially the Pre-Raphaelites, are instantly recognisable - in fact the sheer quantity of the offerings make the galleries rather intimidating. There is also a superb collection of Wedgewood Jasperware, as well as Greek, Roman, African and Oriental displays. A treasure trove to explore.
NB: Some galleries are closed this year [2007] as improvements are made by Liverpool Museums.
