Description:
War Memorial for the dead of Aberystwyth.

Review:
Commissioned in 1919 and unveiled in 1923 this is one of the most striking war memorials I have ever seen. It is the work of an Italian sculptor, using stone from a local quarry. The site, right on the sea-front, makes it even more striking. A testimony to how people felt about the deaths of WW1, and the sacrifices ordinary people made for peace.
