Description:
Completely renovated museum in the heart of Cirencester.

Review:
Cirencester was Roman Britain's second city, so the museum is particularly strong on Roman remains - including the famous 'hare' mosaic pictured here. The area is also renowned for its Anglo-Saxon settlements, so the museum features the recent discoveries from Lechlade, including the gold pendant shown here. Wool, as you would expect from the Cotswolds, also features strongly ,as do Civil War connections. Impressive local museum!
