Continuing on from Book 1, this again features a chronological approach to the period, with great emphasis on story, characters, 'big questions' and detail. Henry VIII, Elizabeth I and the Civil War all feature strongly, but so do Samuel Pepys and Restoration London.
Each chapter is centred around a big enquiry question, as well as activities for each spread. Big colourful illustrations continue as in the initial volume. Links put the detailed content into context, so we have the required mixture of overview and depth.
This volume certainly continues the high standard set by Book 1.
