Chocolate heaven for the chocoholic - they keep forcing chocolate on you!

Review:
Home to Cadburys since 1882, the factory at Bourneville was especially built to move production out of the city into a rural village. The site includes a history of chocolate making, a tour of the factory, a small - disappointing - museum, and plenty of social history. The specially built village surrounding the factory is probably of more interest and significance for history students - the whole paternalistic ethos of swimming baths, cricket fields, allotments, paid holidays, etc, etc, are symptomatic of the caring employer in the late C19th. The Cadbury family introduced lots of things we now take very much for granted!
