Description:
The story of Hannah Weinberger, of Wurzburg, who came to England on a kindertransport, age 11.
Hannah was the only one of her family to survive the holocaust. This is her story. Her journey to England, the fortunate circumstances of her being sponsored by a Bristol schoolteacher, and her life in England, interwoven with her attempts to trace what happened to her family in Germany. It is told in a very matter of fact way, which somehow makes it even more chilling.
An easy read, good Yr 9 readers could manage it, so could easily be used in the classroom.
