Description:
An oral history of World War Two.
In association with the sound archive of the Imperial War Museum, this collection brings to light the Second World War in a way no written history can. With minimal linking text and scene-setting, events are left to the participants to describe, and most of them do so in an understated way, like 'I don't really know why I got the VC - all I did was what any other soldier would do.' Covering all areas of the world, civilians and soldiers, Allies and Axis, this collection sheds a bright light on the experiences of people in war. Recommended.
