What an excellent idea – to take modern points of conflict and place them firmly in their correct historical context. ‘Israel and Palestine’ manages to tread a fine line through the labyrinth of claim and counter-claim to this disputed land, with only an occasional hint of bias. This book is fascinating, well-written and will appeal to your average and above-average GCSE student. There is plenty of detail, but attractively laid out.
