Description:
A children's novel of the Peasants Revolt.
Told thought the eyes of a family dog, this prize-winning children's novel looks at events in England in 1381. There is plenty of hunting - the heroine is a hunting dog - and colourful detail about woods, wastes and forests, but it is all firmly fixed in the historical detail of the time. Find out how hard village life really was, and how arbitrary, why the peasants were so unhappy, and the consequences of their actions. Written in a very readable and accessible way, this is a good way to encourage pupils to read - and use some of the detail from their reading to explore events in the 14th Century.
