Description:
Simple interrogation of a piece of evidence.
A railway timetable for 1852, 6 trains a day, nothing could be simpler to interrogate, could it?
What can we discover from a simple timetable?
Was Chatsworth a tourist attraction then? Bakewell and Haddon? Did people like a day out - especially on Sundays - in the Derbyshire Peaks? How else do you explain the times of the Sunday train?
Get your pupils to really look at the timetable and draw out all they can find out about mid-Victorian times.
