Was Russian agriculture always a failure?
Title:Was Russian agriculture always a failure?
Keystage: Keystage 5
Type:Teaching
Units & Topics:Russia and The Soviet Union 1880-1985
Description:
An A level revision activity - a simple mind map - exploring Russian and Soviet agriculture.

Use this 'Word' document as a basis for a revision lesson on Russian agriculture. It assumes that agriculture WAS a failure, and prompts many reasons to support this. Ask pupils which reasons are missing, and get them to add them to the 'map.' Then ask pupils to produce a similar map suggesting the successes of Russian and Soviet agriculture. Finally, ask pupils to combine the two to produce a definitive view of agriculture over the last 100 years. How about asking them to produce figures, stats and historians' views to support their ideas?
