Northampton Black History Association have launched teaching packs focusing on Walter Tull: Sport, War and Challenging Adversity.
|
Two packs are available – one aimed at Key Stage 3 history and one, a cross-curricular resource, aimed at Key Stages 2 and 3. Both use the life story of Walter Tull, one of the first black professional footballers and the first black British Infantry Officer, to develop pupils’ skills in significance, interpretations and other key concepts. There are detailed schemes of work as well as worksheets and activities. Developed by Hilary Claire and Dan Lyndon, these are exemplary sets of good history activities that will engage all your pupils. All are presented as Word documents too so they can be altered to suit your own needs. These packs have been given free to every school in Northamptonshire, and are now available to purchase.
