- Northern Re-enactments [External Link]
The Northern Re-enactment Society is a body of people from different re-enactment groups and wargames clubs, mainly covering the Tudor to the late Georgian period. The Society is a friendly group whose main aim is to portray history through re-enactments and displays, they have links to enthusiasts of other periods of History.
During the summer months they put on many battle re-enactments, and in winter they hold social evenings and gaming weekends throughout the North of England.
The Society has a large depot of equipment to kit people out at events. Aimed mainly at adults they do have experienced costume makers who will make costumes once people are ready to take the plunge and become re-enactors
The society can give advice on where to obtain licences and equipment, such as swords muskets and armour.
The Northern Re-enactment Society aims to bring History to Life. The society can make a positive contribution to the teaching of History in your school in a number of ways:
•Information on re-enactments near your school
•Re-enactments at school events
•Displays to particular year groups
•Small displays for Classes
•Talks to classes
•Information on specific topics
